Last week, after my coworkers and I finished up closing up shop, we headed to the monuments and memorials in Northwest. We were tired of the usual super late-night drinking and eating after work, so decided a nice stroll would be more refreshing. Its a shame not more people go at night because its really lovely! The weather was great, the lights were enchanting and its definitely way more relaxing going there after all the tourists have retired to their hotel rooms, leaving the place nearly deserted except for the few here and there.

Its actually really safe too! There are state park police everywhere, so just in case you thought it’d be a nice place to pop open a bottle and drink alcohol, you probably shouldn’t.
The first time and only prior time that I had gone to visit the memorials at night was maybe two years ago? (I have the photos laying around on my old Macbook somewhere~~) Surprisingly enough, it was someone who wasn’t a native/local that dragged me out that time and continued to drag me out all the time to explore the District. He probably knew Washington, D.C. way better than I did back then (but I’m sure I know more about it now).
Anyway, after the monuments, my coworkers and I were starving after a long shift and a long walk, so we ended up eating at a 24-hour diner in Adams Morgan, called ‘The Diner’ and I got home around 4 a.m. the next morning.
I still have a lot of vacation photos I need to post, but it’ll have to wait! I have a lot of work to do with new projects and such and I’ll be in Las Vegas this weekend to celebrate my sister’s 21st birthday.
