Class of 2012

I graduated last Friday and let me tell you, even though my friends and I are ecstatic about graduating, we were basically like, “Yay! ….. Well, now what do we do?” Because it seems no one I know (myself included) has yet to land a full-time position. Anyway, I’m glad that I won’t have to fight for parking anymore or do research. And now, the only all-nighters I’ll ever have to commit to are D3 all-nighters. I could never seriously study all night for a test anyway, sleeping always seemed to make itself priority.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported me these past four years. To everyone who let me cry on their shoulder (or in their closet). To everyone who listened to me rant and whine and put up with my brattiness. To everyone who were patient with me and believed in me when I literally never believed in myself. To everyone who stayed up all night with me to study with me, tutor me and then let me sleep on their couch (with or without a blanket). Thank you so much, I wouldn’t have done it without you guys.

In other news, today is my 22nd birthday! The celebration continues!

Jacobs & Choo

I went to an outlet mall yesterday with my sister. I needed a dress and shoes for graduation (and hopefully wearable for the rest of my life). I think the best part about this mall is that they have department store outlets. I found my dress at the Bloomingdales outlet, and everything there was already discounted plus buy one item, get another half off. So for my second item, I got this Marc by Marc Jacobs striped t-shirt dress. Its super comfortable, I think its adorable (Trang and David don’t like it though ;x), and was really reasonably priced after the discount. I didn’t take a picture of my dress because I’ll be wearing it tomorrow in graduation pictures :]

Originally for shoes, I had been lusting over these “Gucci Ankle Strap Peep Toe Pump” for over a month. But as lovely and classic the style was, I couldn’t bring myself to spend $600 on one pair of shoes and I couldn’t even try it on since it was only sold online. Though I’ll admit I still regret not getting it and plummeting into severe credit card debt since I could see myself wearing them for the rest of my life (kidding~). Anyway~ I knew I wanted something open-toed, suede, and with ankle straps. So when I saw these Jimmy Choo pumps at Nordstrom Rack fitting the description perfectly, I was extremely happy! Not to mention, the sale price was much cheaper than the Gucci pair and was 1/4th of the original price.

The shoes are a little too big for me (I’m a 37, not a 38) but nothing that shoe padding can’t fix! They’re a little scuffed in some places and looks a tiny bit worn out, but the sole shoes no signs of wear. Maybe it was a last pair at some Nordstrom and they sent it to the outlet store? Either way, I don’t mind since the imperfections aren’t extremely noticeable unless you’re staring at it. But yay! My first pair of designer shoes! They’re really comfortable but I’m hoping that I won’t break my ankle walking across the stage since I don’t normally wear high heels, ever.

One for one

I recently got my first pair of Toms after trying to avoid them for so long. The shoes are for a good cause, but I’m more of a Vans person and couldn’t see the aesthetic appeal of Toms (aka, I think they look weird). But my sister (who has at least six pairs) swore they were super comfortable and would be great for my trip to Asia. So I relented and bought a pair in black.

I think they kind of look like Chinese kung-fu slippers. Not in a bad way though, because maybe I want to look like I can kick butt. Not to mention they are extremely comfortable. I’m already considering getting another pair when I get back from vacation, maybe in red? Although, my sister is trying to get me to buy Rainbows now too and I kind of hate the way flip flops look, but I’ll probably relent because of it’s comfort level.
