Dat Haircut

Interrupting my vacation post with a beauty-related post :{D

So after growing my hair out for about three years or so (with the occasional relayering/trim), I finally got a drastic hair cut!

BEFORE

AFTER

In high school, I was pretty notorious amongst our small group of friends for constantly cutting my hair short. Then in college, I really wanted to grow my hair out because I wanted to be able to curl it (even though I barely know how to use a curling iron). But then, two days ago, I got this crazy urge to chop my hair off again because it was way too long. (Well, it was between a cut or a digital perm.)

I love my haircut! It feels really fresh, light and clean. Although, I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t miss being able to make super epic long moustaches with my hair.

Since we were sick, we thought we’d go ahead and start the day off easy by going to Galeries Lafayette, a pretty chill department store/mall like Harrods. The place was pretty huge, but Calvin and I headed straight for the roof since we just wanted to relax and get some sun.

Beginnings in Paris

So we left for Paris around 5am BST in the morning from London. We took Eurostar, which happened to be both inexpensive and really pleasant! I only slept for two hours before we left, but forced myself to be awake for the majority of the train ride because its definitely a breath of fresh air to see green fields after being stuck in an office/classroom on the laptop for hours every single day.

The place we stayed at (booked through AirBnB) was really conveniently located near a metro station. The only bad part was that it was located on the fifth floor (which is really the sixth floor because in Europe, the first floor always counts as the ground floor and then they start numbers) and for some reason, the Parisians don’t believe in elevators like obese Americans do.

We didn’t really do much on the first day due to pure exhaustion seeing as how we didn’t sleep at all the week before, cramming for midterms and then promptly forcing our bodies to its’ limits in London. So we both ended up getting sick, me more-so than Calvin. Let that be a lesson to everyone else! You can’t survive on a vacation with just coffee and no sleep.

But we did manage to have one meal when we arrived at a nearby cafe. It was really good and the tomatoes were super sweet!
